Color Sorter & Optical Sizer (Weigher optional)

The tomatoes enter the camera section after being singulated by flexible diabolic shaped brushes with frequency regulated control of the direction and rotation speed. To deter these brush rollers from hardening due to dirt accumulation, cleaning brushes are located below them.

Color cameras, upon which a picture of the entire tomato becomes visible, electronically scan the tomatoes. The system can distinguish 32,000 colors.

Color ranges can be selected as required. Basic color, as well as blush range, are separately adjustable in steps of 1%.. The basic color can be adjusted by the average color and the blush range by surface percentages.

The OMS Optical Measuring System with high-resolution cameras scans the tomatoes in several positions and a computer determines the actual optical diameter. The size selection can be adjusted in steps of .004" with an accuracy of .02".

Diameter-length-ratio allows for the separation of long and short fruits of the same diameter.

If required, the same size tomatoes can be distributed to several outlets or different sizes to the same outlet.

After leaving the camera section, the tomatoes enter the cups and are distributed over the selected exits. Unlike other systems, the tomatoes roll on the exit belts rather than being dropped. This is a very important feature since dropping is a major cause of bruising, especially with ripe tomatoes.

The systems are available in 2, 3, 4 and 6-lane versions with an undersize exit at the end of the lines.
